For the Oil and Gas Industry products you can rely on

Chemetall, a global business unit of BASF's Coatings Division, offers a comprehensive product portfolio for the Oil and Gas industry in addition to acid wash and pipe coating technologies for the pipe coaters. This includes pretreatment, NDT system technologies products and equipment, to aid thread cutting for the Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) customers.

Oil and Gas exploration is now more challenging than ever as drilling operations need to be deeper and in more challenging conditions while adhering to environmental regulations. Premium Oil Country Tubular Goods are required to demonstrate outstanding performance even under extreme load conditions. Connections need to remain gas tight, corrosion resistant, and robust to ensure they keep their mechanical integrity. Chemetall's comprehensive line of products ensures these needs are met and are approved by major companies in the Oil and Gas market — meeting the requirements of international aerospace, military and industrial quality approvals. Products are available worldwide. With many years of experience in this market, Chemetall also provides local expertise and support for its customers.

Included in this portfolio are penetrant testing products under the well-known Ardrox®, Britemor® and Checkmor® brand names. The range includes both colour contrast penetrants and fluorescent penetrants with associated penetrant removers and developers. Chemetall's fluorescent range of products meet all sensitivity levels required and are developed to give low level background fluorescence and crisp, bright indications. These technologies are characterized by their ease of use and washability performance.

Magnetic particle inspection is another key constituent of Chemetall's Non-Destructive Testing portfolio. The Ardrox®, Lumor®, and Supramor® branded products include black and fluorescent magnetic inks. These are partnered with white contrast paints, carrier oils and removers. Customers can rest assured that by using these products for testing requirements they will comply with all necessary industry approvals.

Chemetall's NDT equipment ranging from ultra violet inspection lamps, UV/white light meters, and permanent/electro magnets complement these products. Furthermore, Chemetall's industry experts can advise the processes which best meet customer needs.

For the transportation of oil and gas, the integrity of the coated pipe is essential no matter whether the pipe is underground, on the surface, or subsea. To achieve the standards set that ensure long term corrosion protection of the pipes proper surface preparation is essential.

Chemetall's acid wash products are not only highly effective in removing surface contamination and chlorides but also prepare the pipe surface to allow the potential performance benefits of the Fusin Bonded coating (FBE) either as a single layer or dual layer or part of a 3LP multi-layer coating to be achieved.

Chemetall prides itself on being able to offer customers technology that meets the most stringent environmental demands. Chemetall, as a pioneer of nickel free zinc and manganese phosphates to the Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) market can even offer low temperature products for some applications.

An advanced and recognized manganese phosphate Gardobond® G 4066, which is nickel free, has a proven track record of treating high chrome alloys such F22. Even with the toughest requirements — difficult substrate or a demanding specification Chemetall will have a product to meet the customer needs.

The Chemetall technical laboratory located in Bletchley, United Kingdom offers liquid penetrant analysis to complete the full and comprehensive process support. This facility also houses a warehouse and administrative office.
