Acid Pickling

Acid pickling products remove scale, rust and other contaminants from metal surfaces. It is often the final cleaning stage prior to pretreatment of plating. Chemetall's products activate the surface to prepare it for plating and provide a light etch for better adhesion.

Form: Liquid
Apply by: Spray, immersion
Gardacid P 4462/1 is a sulfuric acid-based acid pickle designed to remove rust and scale from steel. It provides some cleaning and produces very little sludge or scale.
Gardacid P 4442 is a liquid acidic pickling product used to remove laser and plasma cutting scale, rust, mill scale, welding scale, spatter and heat scale. The carefully balanced surfactant content allows for the removal of light oils and shop soils as well. It is formulated for use in both spray and immersion processes. Gardacid P 4442 has ingredients that make it suitable for processing aluminum along with steel, and it has an inhibitor to reduce consumption and prevent formation of smut on steel.
Gardacid P 4444 is a liquid acidic pickling product used to remove laser and plasma cutting scale, rust, mill scale, welding scale and spatter and heat scale. The carefully balanced surfactant content allows for the removal of oils and shop soils as well. It is designed for use in spray and immersion processes.
Gardacid P 4462/1 is a liquid sulfuric acidic pickling product used to remove laser and plasma cutting scale and rust from ferrous substrates. Gardacid P 4462/1 can also be used to clean and etch aluminum substrates. A fluoride additive is sometimes used with aluminum. The carefully balanced surfactant content of Gardacid P 4462/1 allows for the removal of oils and shop soils as well. It is designed for use in spray or immersion processes. Gardacid P 4462/1 is especially beneficial for use where pickling pre- phosphating with phosphoric acid would be a problem. Gardacid P 4462/1 does not form heavy sludge in the tank, or scale on heater surfaces, common problems with phosphoric acid-based products. This product does not contain phosphate, nitrate, fluoride, chelates or alkylphenol ethoxylates.
Gardacid Extra is a liquid acidic pickling product used to remove laser and plasma cutting scale, rust, mill scale, welding scale, spatter and heat scale. It is formulated for use in both spray and immersion processes. Gardacid Extra has an inhibitor to reduce consumption and prevent formation of smut on steel.
Gardacid P 4468 is a thickened, acidic compound used to remove rust, scale, corrosion and oxides. It is formulated primarily for steel. Specially formulated to have a thixotropic nature, the applied film of Gardacid P 4468 clings better to vertical surfaces without excessive run-off. Gardacid P 4468 can often be used as a replacement for abrasive blasting or other mechanical means of oxide removal. It rapidly removes corrosion byproducts and surface oxidation. Gardacid P 4468 can be used prior to conversion coating processes.
Form: Liquid
Apply by: Spray, immersion
SCN-9194 is a liquid neutral rust stripper specifically formulated for removing rust from ferrous parts between machining operations prior to assembly or pretreatment and painting. Unlike other rust stripping materials, which tend to activate the metal surface and develop flash rust, SCN-9194 provides short-term rust protection.
Form: Liquid
Apply by: Immersion
PC 10 inhibits sulfuric acid pickling solutions from attacking sound metal. By preventing overpickling, metal loss is reduced and the life of the acid bath is prolonged. Plus, the controlled foam blanket reduces fumes and ensures better rinsing.
Deoxidizer SS is a concentrated liquid, acidic compound that contains a blend of acids. It's used for the pickling and removal of oxides and scales from a variety of metals. Deoxidizer SS is normally used by immersion on metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, magnesium, titanium, zinc and others.
